One of the highlights of childhood is Trick-Or-Treating – getting dressed up in a costume and going door to door, stuffing your bag as full as humanly possible with candy! However, for children living in low-income/ affordable housing, mobile trailer parks and short term motels, trick-or-treating can be a disappointing or even dangerous event. Most families living in motels cannot afford costumes or candy and child safety is a concern when you do not
know who is going to answer the door.
One solution is Grandma’s House of Hope’s Annual “Safe Harvest” Event hosted on Halloween for children living in our local Anaheim motels. The West Anaheim Youth Center is once again partnering with us and generously donating their facility for this event to be held on October 31 st, from 4:00 pm – 8:30 pm. AND We need your help!
We are looking for volunteers who would come and entertain the kids. We need Costumed Super Heros, Princesses, Pirates or any other Kid-friendly characters. We are looking to Balloon Artists, Temporary Tattoos or Face Painters.
